Hazzard Anderson Original Record Error(s)
Hazzard Anderson Birth or Death Record Error
Death record lists Carrie E. Hazzard Anderson's death as May 14, 1902. Yet, she is listed on Edith M. Anderson's birth record as the mother. (David H. Anderson, father.) Edith was born November 20, 1908.
Here may lie the caveat: Both records are clearly legible but they are typed versions of the delicate original documents. The simplest solution is often the best solution. It's very possible the typist transcribing one of these records made a typing mistake entering a death or birth year.
If above scenario is wrong AND Carrie really did die in 1902, then someone somehow made an error and entered Carrie's name on the record when her sister and third wife of David H. Anderson, Ida May Hazzard, should be listed as Ellen M. Anderson's mother.

Dear Jo-Anne,
Thank you for submitting your concern about Ellen M Anderson's birth mother in FamilySearch. After researching her name and the records you provided, we agree with your second scenario. That is, Ellen's mother is listed as Carrie, but should be listed as Ida Hazzard Anderson. You may add Ellen as a child under the marriage of David and Ida Anderson and in the notes, list the reason why you know Ida is the mother and not Carrie.
Because you have a source (see Ancestry recod below) that lists Ida and David having been married in 1903, it will validate your reasoning why the record containing Carrie's name as the mother is incorrect.
Again, thank you for sharing your concern through FamilySearch Community. We hope this informatoin will be helpful as you add Ellen's birth under David and Ida Anderson.
