Mixed up records? This needs to be brought to the attention of correct team
There continues to be confusion regarding Land Evidence records for Coventry, kent, Rhode Island. There are 26 totals reels, 19 available everywhere and 7 not available anywhere, including 4 of 6 indexes. It seems to me (and everyone else who has commented) that it is likely that the 7 reels unavailale should be because it is unlikely that the holder would allow 19 to be viewed but 7 not. Thanks.

Question– please take a look at your original records and tell me if the original baptismal for Claude Philippe was in Le Fay, Norde-Pas- Calais OR Saone-et-Lorie, France? An acquaintance of mine in France wrote me that was an error in the Family Search records. He said the records were not properly read. I don’t speak or read French. I need you to please clarify for me from the original records where Claude Philippe b1678 was baptized.
Original Records I pulled from Family search some time back:
I believe this is their son – my direct ancestor:
My acquaintenance in France said that all that is the wrong Le Faye and it is not from Nord. He believes who ever read the records for you was wrong and he went in & changed them to the below:
Principal
France, Saône-et-Loire, Parish and Civil Registration, 1530-1892
Baptism16 April 1678
Le Fay, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France
Father:Claude Philippe
Mother:Jeanne Nicolas
He left Claude’s brother in Nord.
Principal
France, Saône-et-Loire, Parish and Civil Registration, 1530-1892
Baptism31 May 1682
Le Fay, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
Father:Claude Philippes
Mother:Jeanne Nicolas
He left the parents marrying in Nord.
Principal
France, Saône-et-Loire, Parish and Civil Registration, 1530-1892
Marriage20 January 1665
Le Fay, Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
Spouse:Jeanne Nicolas
I was not aware people could just go in & change the records like that.
I don’t read French, so I really want to know what is right. Thank you for any help.
