Roots Tech relationship theory
Hello! I am trying to find out if I can find the relationship theories that Roots Tech had on here that showed how you are related to someone. I had sent messages to my matches and just now getting a response from them but now I don't have a clue how they are connected to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
'Yes', that was so good DURING (and, just for a SHORT while, AFTER) RootsTech.
As far as I am aware ...
All you can do now, is to Send those, that you made contact with, during RootsTech, a 'Message", requesting that they "Enable" the "Relationship Viewing".
Both, you; and, the Other User/Patron MUST "Enable" that "Relationship Viewing" to be able to establish you relationship.
And, remember ...
DO NOT leave that "Relationship Viewing" on ALL the time, make sure you DISABLE it, when you have established your relationship. That is just for "security"; and, "Privacy", reasons.
As an aside ...
IF, you have not already; THEN, ...
Can I humbly suggest that you try (BYU) RelativeFinder which can simply find one's "Relationships" to just about ANYONE (not only the "Famous"/"Infamous"), from one's connections/linkages, that exist in "Family Tree" of 'Family Search'.
Those connections/linkages, ALREADY exist, in "Family Tree", of 'Family Search'.
Provide, one's "Ancestral" Lines, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', are somewhat extensive enough; then, one SHOULD be lucky enough to find connections/linkages to MANY People of interest (and, not just the "Famous"/"Infamous"), including "Living" Users/Patrons, through (BYU) RelativeFinder.
And, it is simple, just a matter of "Signing In", with the credentials of your 'FamilySearch' Account; accepting the "Conditions"; and, the "Connection" between "FamilySearch' and (BYU) "RelativeFinder"; which, then becomes a "Partner" Account, that is "Connect" to 'FamilySearch.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" digs (pun intended) a lot DEEPER in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', than 'FamilySearch' does.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" is one of the "Third Party" Applications that "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
BYU = Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA (ie. the Church University).
From the "Family History Technology Laboratory", of the "Computer Science" Department.
Here is direct link to "RelativeFinder"

"RelativeFinder" has MANY 'Bells and Whistles', that you might find useful.
Apart from "Famous People" and "Others" ...
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" has some interesting options ...
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between ("Living" - Users/Patrons) Friends in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
Magic.
Enjoy.
Just a thought.
Good Luck.
I hope this might help, somewhat.
