One of my Family Tree members has become a confidential person

Charles Arthur Rowbotham 1894-1970

ID - LBJH-R91 has somehow become a confidential person.

Why would this happen and how can it be undone?

I do not find a person in the Tree with that id. When you say confidential - how are you seeing that? Did someone change the person to living? If you see that id and he is indicated as living - perhaps you are the only one that can view that living person?

I do find a similar person with id - GCNG-98X - is this the correct one?

    John

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    For starters ...

Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':

Why are deceased people in my Family Tree private space?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/deceased-people-in-my-family-tree-private-space

Are the confidential people in my Family Tree private space ever made public?

How do I request temple ordinances for a confidential person in Family Tree?

Have a 'look' at the Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAM ( 1894-1970 ) [ LBJH-R91 ]; obviously, a "Confidential Person", that ONLY you can 'see' ...

    And, those around him ...

There must be something; often, a 'Place', that is subject to some form of "Restriction" ...

Sometimes, it is just "Cautionary" ...

I have gotten the 'Status' of "Confidential Person" lifted off some individuals/persons.

[ ie. Once, 'FamilySearch', investigated "Fully" ... ]

Hopefully, the "Moderators" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel) ], here in the Forum, can take your particular matter, into the Working of 'FamilySearch' "Support", have such investigated; and, reviewed.

    Good Luck.

    Brett

    Thanks for your input.

I am seeing a banner at the top of this person's page saying they are a confidential person, I created this person a couple of years ago, so I don't understand why the status has changed now. Definitely not living. Will have to wait & see.

    John

I just had a 'look', at the similar person, suggested by 'genthusiast':

    Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAM ( 24 Sep 1894, Queensland, Australia -Deceased ) ... [ GCNG-98X ]

And, did a check, in the "Registry of Birth; Death; and Marriages", for the State of Queensland, in Australia

    https://www.familyhistory.bdm.qld.gov.au/

    Where it records:

    Birth

    • Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAN
    • Event date: 24/09/1894
    • Event type: Birth registration
    • Registration details: 1894/C/3540
    • Products available:
    • Mother: Ruth Hancox
    • Father/parent: Arthur ROWBOTHAM

    Marriage

    • Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAN
    • Event date: 17/12/1930
    • Event type: Marriage registration
    • Registration details: 1931/B/9901
    • Products available:
    • Spouse: Mabel Sarah SUGARS

    Death

    • Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAN
    • Event Date: 17/07/1970
    • Event Type: Death registration
    • Registration Details: 1970/B/16368
    • Mother: Ruth HANCOX
    • Father/parent: Arthur ROWBOTHAM

IF, that is the SAME as your Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAM ( 1894-1970 ) [ LBJH-R91 ]; THEN, 'Yes', it would be "Very" ODD indeed, for your version to be a "Confidential Person" - certainly, NO problem/issue there with regards to the 'Places' for, "Birth"; "Marriage"; and/or, "Death".

    Just for information.

    Brett

    ( from "Downunder" )

ps: I actually KNOW the User/Patron who created Charles Arthur ROWBOTHAM ( 24 Sep 1894, Queensland, Australia -Deceased ) ... [ GCNG-98X ] - I have spent many a time, in a "Family History Centre" of the Church, with them.
