I agree -- it is absolutely TERRIBLE -- can't find anything!
The problem is that the new interface (for Record Search) is highly unlikely to be changed. However, the developers probably will make some changes, based on examples of where a search is now failing (say too many or too few results) compared to what you were getting when using the old version.
If you can be more specific (I realise you might have several issues!) it would be of great help.
In the community, there is a post from an employee with some explanations and seeking feedback. If you click on the link below, you can read through the thread and provide specifics as to your concerns.
Go to Community, then Ideas, then Records (searching and viewing). Scroll down to the thread "FamilySearch Employee Responding to Search Page Feedback."
