Name changed
Subject: George Leavit Shuster (G85F-DYS). I have come across a source written by Leland James Kohlmeyer (see Memories-photo) I will paraphrase : After death of George's mother Emma (LV42-6G6) and sister Ida (LVJJ-PRJ). His father: Fred Clarence Shuster (LV7F-HF3) and siblings removed back to Michigan. The siblings were farmed out to relatives, friends, and foster homes. George had been adopted and name changed to Robert Chapman. Here is the question: Now the name has been changed, how do you put "Robert Chapman" in the tree? Because, in affect George is no longer in the Tree, sometime after 1924, and FamilySearch's search engines are not looking for him. Pleas advise, Randall

Family Tree is designed to allow you to determine which name a person might have used during most of their life, however, to connect individuals to their biological ancestral lines, we usually enter individuals using their birth name.
When a name is changed during someone's lifetime, we go to the Other Information field which is just below the Vital Information field on their details page and in the Alternate Name option, add the other name with the drop-down that says Also Known As.
Please note that you can enter the reason for the change as you add the Alternate name. You can include up to 2000 characters in your explanation so you may want to add the information you provided in your question.
To review the additional types of other information that is appropriate for this section of the details page, please review the following knowledge article which is available in the FamilySearch Help Center.
We hope this information is helpful as you continue to enhance the person pages of your ancestors who are in Family Tree.
