I assume that you uploaded the marriage license into Memories.

To Delete it out of memories:

    1. Go into family tree: one of the menu at the top is "Memories"
    2. Click on Memories, a window will open and click on "Gallery"
    3. When Galery opens, you will see all of pictures and documents that you have uploaded to memories
    4. Choose the marriage license you want to delete, double click on it.
    5. Under the name of the ptoto on left you will see actions, click actions
    6. Another window will open, at bottom you will see "Delete"
    7. Click Delete, then click "Delete from Family Search. This will delete the marriage license.

    To Remove the dates:

Go into your family tree and click on the persons you want to change, then click on persons name and it will open the persons detail.

When the persons details opens: as you scroll down the page, you will notice an "Edit" in blue next to each category (Ex: Birth, Death, etc.), click the edit button

This will open a window and will allow you to change the dates. After you edit the dates, you will see the save button will be highlighted, click it and it will remove the wrong date or you can change them to correct dates if you have them.

Hope this takes of your problem.

@dee tr , not sure what mean by "full living dates?" Also are you talking about Living people in your Private space or deceased people in the Public tree? A little more information or PID # would be helpful.

    Hello Dee,

You might wish to read the following article about living people in your private space. Click below.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Dee,

One more thought. Are the marriage licenses listed in sources? If so, here are instructions regarding removing a source from an individual's record:

    1. Navigate to the Person page of the individual who has an attached source.
    2. Click the Sources tab.
    3. Select a source, and click Detach.
    4. Explain the reason for your changes, than click Save.

@dee tr , it would help your cause if you could give a little more detail of your issue so that the answers & help you get will be specific to your situation. Answers will be less helpful when the responders are required to speculate as to your concerns.

I thought i was saving marriage license to a private tree (on ancestry and here it wasn't so a guy took the licenses and added to some one else's tree on family search. I do not want my license info out there and the rest of the family is living and they want it private too!

His remark was if its out there its free for all, I did what i could on my end I hope. But its still in contributions and hint and I rejected them.

Is there any way that all the marriage licenses be removed from family search completely?

If this is a record being offered to be attached to Family Search, and it contains information for living persons, this provides the steps to take to protect the information for living. Can I request to remove the name of a living person from Historical Records?

I would have to call them or is there an address to write them?

@dee tr ,Yep, public records are generally controlled by various legislative branches of governments. In the US that usually is the State. Fifty states with different public records restrictions and different rules on the different kinds of records.
