Attaching Memories to Read-Only Ancestors

Last year you helped me attach some memories to my read-only ancestors (see Case Numbers 07436387 and 08153783). I followed the attached instructions that I received from you. Are those instructions still valid? The links in these instructions do not work. I have two more memories I would like to add. Thank you!

    @Steve Wassom

    Steve

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just my thoughts ...

    I would suggest ...

Short Answer: 'Yes', the basic 'Instructions' are STILL 'Valid'; but, the links to the 'Knowledges Articles' are not.

Not that I could find exact references to all the OLD 'Knowledges Articles' ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch', that may help.

How do I upload memories to FamilySearch?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-upload-photos-or-documents-to-memories

How do I tag memories of my ancestors or relatives in Family Tree?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-tag-memories-of-my-ancestors-or-relatives-in-family-tree

How do I edit or delete person tags in Memories?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-edit-or-delete-person-tags-in-memories

How do I create an album in Memories?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-create-an-album-in-memories

How do I add memories to an album?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-add-memories-to-an-album

    Of course ...

You will STILL need, to post/submit, a "Request", in his "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, requesting the ADDITION, of the "Memories", in the "Link" of the "Album", that you created, to the "Read-Only" individual/person, in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; as, ONLY 'FamilySearch' can do that, on your behalf.

I hope that this may help, somewhat.

Thank you for all of this info, but I do not understand your last paragraph. How do I submit a "Request" to HIS "Community.FamilySearch" Forum? With the old Case # system, I knew how to do that, but not now.

    Steve

'Yes', the OLD 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case Management System is GONE ...

    As such ...

    In other words ...

    FIRSTLY ...

Create an "Album", of the particular "Memories", that you want attached, to the "Read-Only" individual/person concerned.

    [ As per those "Instructions" ... ]

    SECONDLY ...

Then "Request" those "Memories", in that Particular "Album", in your "Gallery", in "Memories", of 'FamilySearch', be attached to the "Ready-Only" individual/person, through either,

    (1) For a "Private" communication ...

Contact 'FamilySearch' "Support" DIRECTLY via the,

    (a) Telephone; and,

    (b) an "Live ('On-Line') "Chat"

To keep the communication "Private", if you are directed back to this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, insist that you do not want to do so; and, prefer that the matter be handled "Privately".

    Contact Support

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/contact-familysearch-support

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/contact-familysearch-support

    Whereas,

    (2) For a communication is "Public" view ...

'Post' HERE in "Community.FamilySearch" Forum; and, HOPEFULLY, the "Moderators" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel) ] HERE in this Forum, can TAKE the MATTER directly into the workings of 'FamilySearch' "Support", to help/assist you; and, communicate with you "Privately" via/through either, ("Private") 'Messaging' in 'FamilySearch' (or, the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum); and/or, DIRECT "E-mail".

    And ...

IF, you want, keep any 'Post' here, in the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, to a minimum, devoid of, "Personal" Information about one's self; and, even, not providing information about any Ancestors, just a precis of the matter; and, requesting a "Private" communication directly from 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel).

    As an aside ...

    I would suggest:

    "Q and A' Section:

    'Category' = Family Tree

Home > Help Center Categories > Family Tree

    Family Tree

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/family-tree

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/family-tree

    FINALLY

    And ...

Remember, however you decide to proceed, you WILL need to provide BOTH, the "Details" on the "Ready-Only" individual/person concerned, to whom you want the "Memories" attached; and, the actual "Link" to (Ie. URL of) that Particular "Album", that you created for the purpose, in your "Gallery", in "Memories", of 'FamilySearch'.

    I hope this helps.

    Brett
