How do I indicate that a woman was institutionalized due to mental defect.
G8PZ-DJR Ida May Wicks 1908-1972
Ida was born out of wedlock to a young teenager.
She is listed as a child in WW1 documentation by the man who married her mother. He had a biological child withIda's mother; (Sadly he lost his life serving in France in 1918).
It is not appropriate for me to reserve temple work because this family is on a "research" tree I have been creating in Ancestry to find my Tricker ancestors in Suffolk, England.
Although I cannot do temple work, I do add to Family Search each of the well sourced descendents of a John Tricker of Stowmarket, Suffolk, who may or may not be a relative.
IS THERE A WAY OF BLOCKING TEMPLE WORK? I believe it may not be appropriate for temple work to be done for Ida other than sealing her to her parents i.e. her mother (biological parent and her adoptive father (in a time when legal adoptions were not yet available).
Thank you.

In looking at the ID for Ida and the rest of her family it looks like there are some research hints that can be attached for them.
Also, this article may be helpful to you about Ida's temple work. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/performing-ordinances-for-deceased-persons-who-had-intellectual-disabilities
You will note that the Policy states the following:
Policy
Temple ordinances for deceased persons with intellectual disabilities are performed the same as for other deceased persons.
If the person was not deemed accountable in life, only the sealing-to-parents ordinance may be necessary (See Moroni 8:11–12;Doctrine and Covenants 137:10.)
For more information on this topic, please consult the Church’s General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Section 28.3.5.
Hopefully this will answer your question.
