Not sure where to post question about plat map indexes

Depending on the location, you may find what you need on the Bureau of Land Management website. It has been down a couple of days, but I'm sure it will be fixed shortly.
Some states also have their own websites.

Are you saying that the Bureau of Land Management has indexed each name? I’m looking for an search engine to look up names on place maps. Play maps are a wealth of names.
Thanks
Cynthia

You can search the FamilySearch Catalog to see what is available in plat maps. Perhaps you will find some indexed stuff. Here is how to search:
- Sign in to FamilySearch
- Click Search and then Catalog.
- Assuming you are interested in a specific place, enter it in the Place search field.
- To narrow your results, at the top, click Keywords and enter plat map.
- Click Search.
You can also search digital images to find digitized plat map indexes. Here is how:
- Sign in to FamilySearch.
- Click Search and then Images
- You'll need to enter a place of interest.
- Then click Advanced Search.
- In the Record Type field, enter Plat and you'll see some options that you can click: plat book indexes and plat map indexes look promising.
- Click Search Image Groups.
