I'm looking for help on one of the dates. It looks like there are two dates on this record. From what I can read and understand it looks like baptism record is in September, but then below it it says Parish record as December. Which would I index on this one?

    I think you should use the first date

    @tkbloomfield

    It is difficult to read and understand the first column. My guess:

    Sept 23

    Par(ish) Baptism

    Pub Recd (I think this means when 'received publicly' into the church congregation)

    Dec 18 1858

    So yes the baptism itself I believe was Sep 23 1858. I hope this helps.

    Okay ladies. Thank you. Another question on this one. This box is where they put the names of the parents. How would I index this one? You can see below it says John and Sarah and I have assumed (on all others )the names and put them in the corresponding fathers name box and mothers name box. However, with this one it looks like there is only a mother name, but do I assume that and put it in as a mother name?

    In this case there is no father given so blank is placed in the column for father and only the mother's name is recorded.

    For the record - I am not a 'lady' i am a 'gent'. 😗

    I think in the circled box I would do as Sherii said index just the mother.

    In the one below - there is a bit of a quandry - is Clarke John's middle name or Sarah Bellah's maiden name? I don't see the columns above so am guessing but might need to be switched...

    Using the cut-off portion from the first image I guess those are last names so I believe Sarah Bellah's maiden name is Clarke and married name is Chase. The Project instructions will tell you which to include.

    I'm so sorry! Look at me and my assuming! Clarke is the surname box and the one next to it is maiden name, so I have been indexing both names as the first name if it's like the Sarah Bellah one. Then adding surname and maiden to the correct spots. That would be correct?

    @SheriiGHolder

    I have been putting the first names and middle names in the first name box. Then I add the maiden name to the mother (which happens to be "surname" on family tree), and the surname box on the image goes under the fathers surname. Does this make sense?

    Yes, We can't see your Project. If you use Help> Share Batch - sometimes that is easier than snipping the image as you have done this time. But yes - include maiden name and surname as the Project Instructions (last icon in toolbar I believe) and Field Helps (purple circle with ? on the entry fields) indicate.
