I'm a novice here and I have a big mistake in my family tree.
Thankfully BIG mistakes in FamilySearch Family Tree - are commonly relationship issues between persons in the Tree. The Tree treats all these relationships uniformly. This is not to say that your issue can't be complex and needing 'unraveling'. I would probably recommend that you schedule and contact FamilySearch via virtual consultation for this issue:
Scroll down to find the big blue button to Book your Virtual Genealogical Consultation.
I hope this helps.
If you can tell us the Person ID for the ancestor where you made the error and let us know what the error was, we can take a look and see what needs to be done.
In the mean time, I like to tell people who are new to FamilySearch about the Family History Guide. The Family History Guide is an additional resource for help with FamilySearch.org. The guide contains free lessons to help you use FamilySearch.org. The content is provided by a FamilySearch partner.
Also, you can find help if you click on the question mark at the top right of your screen. Then click on Help Center at the bottom left of the pop-up. You can click on one of the topic icons to see frequently asked questions or type a couple of key words into the search bar to find an answer.
Best Wishes and welcome to FamilySearch!
Since you did not give us the ID’s of the records involved, we cannot specifically comment on the situation you have. However, here are links to articles that will explain the process for making some of the more common corrections.
