The previous search format was 110% better than this one. The new page is bloated and unweildy to work with.

I feel their pain.
I don't know which 'bag' you are finding this email feedback in. As far as I understand I would be recommending all Feedback be directed through the Feedback button on the Search Historical Records page and/or Search Results page.
If users see the Feedback button - click on it - you will be presented with an emoji option scale (hate <-> love), then you can either give Search specific page feedback (for parameters, problems with search results, Preferences, practically the whole page will 'light up' to give you the option to 'specify' your feedback to specific problems with features.) or you can give general Search site feedback (mostly UI type stuff).
I recommend this because FamilySearch engineers need to get an accurate view from the user what problems are occurring. Yes, there are problems - we need to report them. They cannot fix general statements here in Community - they need specific reports through Feedback. Let's flood them with 'problems' to fix.

i have just tried the new formatted search. I'm looking for people in Jamaica and yet get people from USA and UK. The old search would have returned just Jamaica.

Go ahead and click on Feedback - from within the Search Results - and give the FamilySearch engineers your full report. You may have to do that Search again to see the Feedback button on the right-hand side.

Hey, you don't need emojis to gauge user satisfaction or the opposite. Just read their comments. THEY DON"T LIKE THE NEW SEARCH! How more clear could it be?

I can't find the 'feedback' button on the search result page. Do you still see it there?

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
I just checked, in the "Browsers" of, 'Google' "Chrome'; 'Mozilla' "FireFox"; and, 'Microsoft' "Edge", with the "Operating System", of "Windows10", all with the "Latest" version of each ...
And, there is NO (LONGER) a specific "Feedback" 'Button', on the "Search Results" page/screen.
[ ie. I believe, that disappeared a while back, although I had not been paying any attention ... ]
Of course, apart from, the "Generic" link, for "Feedback", at the 'Bottom', on ALL pages/screens.
As an aside ...
Question: Do you really thing, that 'FamilySearch', wants any more NEGATIVE "Feedback" on such ...
Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the responses. I imagine they don't want more negative feedback.
I do hope they are listening to feedback though. But I haven't seen any improvements in either the user interface or the search quality results.
I'd been trying to provide feedback to document search issues, but I'm probably wasting my time.
I guess familysearch employees can tell management that they are no longer getting negative feedback from the search result page!

I don't like the new search options, as there is no way to reset to start another search, you have to go up and click the search then what ever field you want, records, trees, etc. They fixed something that wasn't broken!

FYI
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly; User/Patron.
You are certainly not alone ...
And, just in case you, were not aware ...
Here are some FOUR (x4) posts, in date (and, post) order of being posted, from someone, stating, to be part of the 'FamilySearch' Team that, 'Designed'; and, 'Developed", the the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", which appears, in some of the posts, to give some "Instruction", on HOW to use the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records".

FamilySearch Employee Responding to Search Page Feedback
I hope, that some of the information in these posts, may offer some help/assistance.
And ...
There are OTHER posts throughout this Forum, where the instigator of the above posts has responded with, advice; direction; instruction; help/assistance, on the NEW "Results" page/screen, of "Records Search" ('FamilySearch').
Now ...
That Said ...
You may like to ADD, your thoughts/comments, in those particular posts; so that, your thoughts/comments, like those of MANY other UNHAPPY Users/Patrons, ARE 'seen', by the Team, in 'FamilySearch', that 'Designed'; and, 'Developed" the NEW look "Search".
As you can 'see' from those posts ...
DESPITE, all the NEGATIVE 'Feedback', with regard to the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", from those that matter, the 'lowly' User/Patrons, where the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", was 'foisted' upon them; BEFORE, being "Fully" released to ALL User/Patrons - 'FamilySearch' RELEASED the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", to ALL Users/Patrons.
As I already suggested ...
You are not alone ...
We are ALL "Struggling"; and, NEED "Help", with the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", which is NOT very 'User Friendly'.
MOST Users/Patrons want the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records" to be "Reverted" BACK to the PREVIOUS "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records".
But ...
That Said ...
SADLY, I doubt that will happen ...
I know that this DOES NOT help/assist; but, I hope that this gives you some additional, insight; and, perspective.
