I am indexing from obituaries in Missouri. It says a daughter died in infancy. It does not tell a name. Do I index the child and keep the name blank?

No you don’t index persons that are only referred to and not named. Here is the guidance from the What to Remember About This Project section:

    • Index entries only for persons who have names. For example, do not index relative records for an obituary that reads "Survived by two granddaughters" or "several nieces and nephews." Index other records only if there is at least a given name or surname recorded.
