How do you even search in this new format?

I put in a name a date of birth a birth place for a man forn 1825 Ohio lived in Allen Co IN and Elkhart IN I get census for 1860 that has no place unless you click on it. I can waste hours looking at all these census records that do not state where they are. 1860 Kalamazoo MI or 1860 New York City.

Simplify but do not make these searches more difficult. I don't like the split screen. other than searching for a marriage record I don't' think I will use this site or add onto my tree here. It takes way too much time and I have been searching these records since they went on the internet. so it is not a new thing. I feel for beginners what a mess this is.
