Birth index cards that then read "date of death"

Hi

Should I index names/dates as a birth or as a death?

The record shows it's a "Births Index Cards", and has "Date of Death" details. A few cards I've already indexed, will cross out "Date of Death" and hand write "Date of Birth".

Your help is appreciated :)
