New formatting is clumsy & not well thought out.

Basically you went from a handy one page source to multiple pages. Why tinker with something that worked?

The old system had other sources linked/listed to the right of the main entry when you did a search. You could select what record you wanted to view, from the main page. Now you have to go through multiple pages to find whatever record source you wanted. Clumsy and time consuming.

The date system is strange and picking up multiple years in the first screen search. If you go into "more options" to put start and end dates in, it's a hassle to undo it when you want to look for someone during a different time frame. It doesn't want to change the years without refreshing. It refused to search new years for me without refreshing multiple times. Then it gave me results for years that weren't what I input. That's a glitch.

It's not intuitive or user friendly, contrary to what some of the responses are from "legend" users. I know people complain about any change, but this was truly poorly developed and people are correct to complain.

You are so correct, the new interface is terrible. Finding information now is a hassle.

Stopping my research until this is fixed.

I would like to add my support to the viewpoint expressed by the previous contributors. Perhaps the intention is to force those of use who are not required to use FS to seek other alternatives. I wonder what proportion of the overall contribution is made by amateurs and volunteers. I am certain that it is the amateurs and volunteers who seem to discover the vast proprtion of glaring errors, mistranscriptions, duplications and incorrect indexing, not to mention the recognition and repair caused terronoeous application of misleading "hints".
