Why can't I find any Indexing projects for the Beginning level?

I am trying to do an Indexing activity with our ward youth and I have not been able to find any beginning level projects in English for quite some time now. Why not?

Are you going to the Web Indexing page or to Find a Project page? It is better to go to the Web Indexing page.

If there are no beginner batches go ahead and check out batches in the Intermediate area. Keep looking in those batches till you find batches that you feel like your youth can get started on. Right now I might suggest the US Military Roster Rolls. Don't hesitate to send anything you do not feel comfortable working on back.

Naturalization records are often easy to index. You just need to read the forms with them so they understand the information they are indexing. (It is also a great lesson in the immigration process, which hasn't changed much.) The nuances are making sure they understand that sometimes people came with different names which will be found on the forms, or there could be variations in the spelling on the forms and finding the correct event dates.
