Partial Completion of a Batch
Hello,
There have been a few times I opened a batch to index and was only able to complete part of it. When my time ran out, I clicked on the arrow that "sends the batch back." When I logged on at a later date, I couldn't find the batch. If someone else opens the batch, is the work I already did on it saved or does he /she need to re-index the line items I already completed?
The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to know if it's worth starting a batch if I can't complete it in one sitting.
Thank you.

Yes your work is saved. The person who finished your batch will see what you have done and can go on from there.
Thank you for your work!

Hi Daniel.
When you click on that big black back arrow, you are signing out of your indexing session and returning to the Web Indexing Page. As @EVHLHM mentioned, the indexing system saves your work periodically during your session and when you finally hit that back arrow. Another Indexer can carry on from there.
To put this in context and expand a bit:
Each batch has a Due Date (i.e., "expiry" date) that can vary from a few days to ten days from when you check it out. You don't have to finish indexing a batch in one session, nor even in one day. If you sign out and re-open that batch again before it "expires," you should be able to pick up your indexing where you left off as mentioned above. However, if your batch "expires" before you get back to it, then the system pulls it back to the pool for another Indexer to carry on where you left off. In that case, you won't see it in your list of checked-out batches on the Web Indexing page.
Always start indexing from the Web Indexing page (using Find Batches) and NOT from the Find a Project page. The Find a Project page does not show every available project. Plus, if you start a batch from that page and sign out of it (using that back arrow), you can only see and access that batch again on the Web Indexing page.
