Change in Search Records page on FamilySearch
A patron I was helping had a very different records search page and very different results presentation pages. They were very confusing and did not seem to provide the options of the old Search pages to make needed search adjustments. Is there any way for them to revert back to the original Search webpage formats? I understand that FamilySearch may be rolling out a change to a percentage of customers, but not providing them a way to get out of the change. Please let me know of any possible fix.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
In reference to, the NEW "Search Records"; and, the resulting "Results" page/screen ...
You are certainly not alone ...
We are ALL 'Struggling' ...
And, just in case you, were not aware ...
Here are some FOUR (x4) posts, in date (and, post) order of being posted, from someone, stating, to be part of the 'FamilySearch' Team that, 'Designed'; and, 'Developed", the the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", which appears, in some of the posts, to give some "Instruction", on HOW to use the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records".

FamilySearch Employee Responding to Search Page Feedback
I hope, that some of the information in these posts, may offer some help/assistance.
And ...
There are OTHER posts throughout this Forum, where the instigator of the above posts has responded with, advice; direction; instruction; help/assistance, on the NEW "Results" page/screen, of "Records Search" ('FamilySearch').
Now ...
That Said ...
You may like to ADD, your thoughts/comments, in those particular posts; so that, your thoughts/comments, like those of MANY other UNHAPPY Users/Patrons, ARE 'seen', by the Team, in 'FamilySearch', that 'Designed'; and, 'Developed" the NEW look "Search".
As you can 'see' from those posts ...
DESPITE, all the NEGATIVE 'Feedback', with regard to the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", from those that matter, the 'lowly' User/Patrons, where the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", was 'foisted' upon them; BEFORE, being "Fully" released to ALL User/Patrons - 'FamilySearch' RELEASED the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", to ALL Users/Patrons.
As I already suggested ...
You are not alone ...
We are ALL 'Struggling'; and, NEED "Help", with the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", which is NOT very 'User Friendly'.
MOST Users/Patrons want the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records" to be "Reverted" BACK to the PREVIOUS "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records".
But ...
That Said ...
SADLY, I doubt that will happen ...
And ...
Finally ...
'FamilySearch' has made, MINOR "Changes", to the NEW "Search Records"; and, the resulting "Results" page/screen, hopefully such will keep occurring ...
I know, that this may NOT help/assist; but, I hope, that this gives you, some additional, insight; and, perspective.

Is this concerning the web interface or the mobile app? Both have new results pages, off and on.

They cannot revert back once it shows up on their screen. They can use the feedback tool though to express their concerns.

Next to the SEARCH button is a MORE OPTIONS button. Does that help?

It is so annoying that the search page has changed and at first glance it does not look like it has the same features. Why can't we have the choice to continue to use what has worked in the past. I don't like some new arrangement just for the sake of being an "upgrade". How do I filter records, how do I enter all the past search criteria, if these are all still supported it will take longer to figure it out. Can you just give the "past choice" and say where that is. I appreciate the records availability as always but don't like the changed screen.

I would like to agree with many people who feel the new (very pretty) search page is very poor from a useability point of view. A pretty page that is unusable serves no purpose. Thankfully I'm very close to finished research into the various branches of our family so won't need to use it much in the future.

I personally find the new page less friendly. I wish they would change it back, we all knew how to use it and found it very useful.
Another thing as well is why are more and more documents only available from Find my Past. This hard as you can't even view them without having to pay.

Not as much as the old search page which gave more options to refine or broaden your search. If it ain't broken don't change it. I vote for the old page to be reinstalled

There is no feedback tool.

I am an experienced family history researcher and I have used FamilySearch for over 20 years, and never had any problems looking up records. I find the new search methods extremely complicated and confusing. I do not plan to use your site until it goes back to the previous system which was simple and straightforward to use.
I would be very interested to have a response from you.

I agree totally with these comments. After not having used the search page for a while, I was shocked to find the new page. It is extremely confusing and cumbersome to use which will keep me from doing research I used to do for family and friends.

FamilySearch needs to listen to the user's comments with understanding. Perhaps they might offer a training document or presentation to try to show how to now accomplish the same things we used to be able to do easily. The system is no longer as intuitive as it used to be.
