    I can't see your image ... but,

Since there is no suffix field, you would not index terms like jr, sr, III. I wish they would put this instruction in the Surname field help as well as in the Given Name field help!

Do not include titles, terms, or suffixes with the name. Index prefixes in the Prefix field.

Please include the Shared batch code. The simplest way is to copy the entire project name including the 7 numbers and letters in brackets at the very end of the name.

You are welcome. Now I can see the image! It is always best to share the batch and not a screen shot to get an accurate answer since all projects have different rules. But, since I have worked on this project and have a batch in my queue, I felt comfortable.

When there is no suffix field there is no place to put Jr, Sr or whatever other suffix is included with the person's name.

How do I index name titles or terms?

Titles and terms can be a bit confusing to run into while indexing. Some examples of these instances include:

    • Titles: Jr., Sr., Mrs., Señor, Señora, Don, Doña, Captain, Dr., and so on.
    • Terms: Not named, stillborn, twin, infant, and so on. Note: In most projects, “unknown” is marked as a blank field.

The general rule is to not type them into the Given Name or in the Surname fields. Type the title or term in the Titles and Terms field for that record.
