if jr. or sr. are listed, do I include that? If so, is it in listed the surname or given name field? I am a reviewing and see that some indexers include it and some do not. Some list it in the surname field, some in the given name. What would you suggest, so that I am consistent?

Thank you -

We don't put titles/terms into name fields. If there's no titles/terms field or suffix field, you would just ignore it and in this case would delete Jr or Sr. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-index-name-titles-or-terms

I'm surprised that "Jr" and "Sr" are not to be included in the surname field. I can understand the reason for excluding titles. However, John Smith, Sr and John Smith, Jr are two different people. In fact in many cases the "Jr" is on the person's birth certificate. (it's on mine.)

I assume the rule also applies to Roman numerals after a surname ..... III, IV, V, etc.
