Is there a way to review ‘contributions/adds’ to your tree BEFORE they are added!??
I had not been on the site for a while and came back to review and add to ‘my’ tree and was absolutely heart sick to see that there were numerous errors in ‘contributions/adds’ made to my tree!!! ~ I attempted to fix everything but the amount of errors is so huge that it will take months to fix everything!! … so I thought I’d just start over with a new tree… Nope!! Those same errors keep coming up .. I’m done!
It’s extremely frustrating to put so much work into something for it to all be made incorrect by others adding incorrect information!!

I don't think I'd ever dare to take an extended break from Family Tree. The longest I've gone without checking those I am "Following" is around a week. For me, it is a regular occurrence that I need to spend a couple of days straightening out a family branch that a careless user has completely messed up.
No matter how much evidence and sources I attach there is always someone convinced that my "John Brown", who never left the north east of England in his life, is the same "John Brown" who emigrated to the US and died in Pennsylvania.
As is often discussed here, if you consider the benefits outweigh the negatives of working in an open-edit program like Family Tree, you just stick with it. However, I can completely empathise with your experience and understand those who feel they just can't cope with the work required in maintaining accurate records of the relatives they have added to Family Tree.
I'm really sorry you appear to have become one of the many who have decided to quit, there being no assurance that, as fast as you get everything sorted, another (or even the same) user will come along and muddle it all up again.

Thank you for posting your concern in Community, and incorrect changes made to Family Tree. We understand your frustration about incorrect changes made by other users. The following articles may be helpful in reducing the incorrect changes.
One way is to be sure to document the records with sources. Another is to add additional information in the other areas of Family Tree. The article link below gives suggestions.
Are you familiar with the “Latest Changes” box on the Details page? The following article explains how you can see what changes were made, reasoning statements, and by whom.
You can find the contact name of the individual who made the change, and by clicking on it, you can send them a message asking what sources they have for the change. You can kindly let them know where you gathered your information, and hopefully work together the make sure the information is accurate. The article link below tells you how.
We wish you success in working to correct the inaccurate changes made to Family Tree.

I agree with The originator of this comment and convinced that it will be easier to just close the account. I can't keep changing the entries made by someone else because they seem to be never ending. I have tried to contact the people that are making the changes but no one ever responds to my request for the documents or reason they believe their information should supersede mine.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Furthermore to what has already been proffered ...
Here an old 'standby' of mine, that I have previously proffered on occasion ...
------------------
Most new (and, some old) Users/Patrons DO NOT understand the basic 'nature' and 'premise' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
And, most importantly ...
We DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, Our OWN "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
------------------
Plus ...
We ALL make MISTAKES ...
NONE of US are PREFECT ...
Really ...
None of us want to have our "Ancestral" Lines 'messed up'; but, unfortunately, it happens.
FIRSTLY ...
That is exactly why, many Users/Patrons, ALSO maintain their own PRIVATE "Database(s)" (ie. Copies) of their "Ancestral" Lines , on 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
And ...
SECONDLY ...
Unfortunately, some people like to ... 'look at life through rose coloured glasses'.
Some people, 'see' ONLY what they WANT to 'see', regardless of ALL the supporting evidence (ie. proof) that is provided/supplied/attached.
Honestly, we can ALL be 'one-eyed' like that ... at times ...
'Yes', your are CORRECT ...
As 'Paul' suggests ...
In many cases ...
Basically ...
It is a matter of "Watching" (oops, sorry, 'old school', "Following") our MOST important Ancestors.
Just to keep on top of any 'wayward' changes.
One can "Follow", up to a Maximum of x4000 individuals/persons, at any given time.
'FamilySearch', sends one, a 'Weekly' NOTIFICATION, of ANY "Changes", that are made to those individuals/persons one "Follows".
But ...
That Said ...
Better still, I DO NOT 'Wait' for that 'Weekly' NOTIFICATION ...
I check, the "Changes", to those that I "Follow", on a "Daily" Basis; so that, I can keep on top of things.
More often that not, nothing needs to be done; but, at least, I have the opportunity, to be abreast of things; almost as, they happen/transpire/unfold.
Such is not the best; but, certainly better than nothing ...
Just my thoughts.

Third-party products are available that you can put your tree and only you have the capability to change it. Many people due this so that they can maintain an unchanged tree but still be on FamilySearch for other capabilities and research.
You can find third-party products, services, and websites in the FamilySearch Solutions Gallery. These programs offer a wider variety of functionality. Some offer enhanced printing capabilities. Others provide ways to analyze Family Tree data or engage your family members with their history.
