Just a comment regarding New York Naturalizations Part D, that I am baffled by the instructions

that tell us to correct spellings and spell out abbreviated locations of the places the people were born in.

Goodness, do they think we are experts on every tiny village in the whole of Europe? Unless,

of course, I am mis-understanding what they are wanting.😏

I don't think that they think we are experts. I think they think we are doing our best to meet the Project requirements and that the process will generate an index within an acceptable crowdsourced indexing range.

The Reviewer of the Index has a critical role in the process to produce an accurate index. :)

You are not misunderstanding what they want. You can do a quick search and find the correct spellings if you think they are wrong. Hopefully, reviewers are at least trying to find the correct spellings and expand the abbreviations.
