Wrong town is the "standardized" one
I've been working on some records in Iowa that are being attached in family trees. Every time I try to use "Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa" which is the county seat of Floyd County, Iowa -- the system will standardize it to be "Freeman, Floyd County, Iowa". Freeman is a ghost town; it existed only in the 1850s. It was absorbed into Charles City in the 1860s.
How do I let people know this error is happening?

Is it an error? That depends on the dates of the records. If the records have the location Freeman in the 1850's then that standard is correct.

It’s happening for all records after 1870
