My great grandfather was an elder in Il. but went to Wi. I need to track him.
My Great Grandfather Clark Lyman Whitney was with Joseph Smith in Navarou , but when B Young went west he went to Vararo Wi. He died there in 1851
his family went to the northern part of Wi. At one point I saw he had three wives, Nancy Richardson, Adelene Ballard and Rhoda Ballard . I would like to known more about him and his family also did he stay with the church? Thank you for any help

Hello @David-J-Buchanan
FamilySearch doesn't offer research services per se, but we did find your ancestor in Family Tree:
Clark Lyman Whitney
6 May 1808 – 1 July 1855 • LJG7-LBG
You will notice that someone changed the year of death from 1851 to 1855. If 1851 is the correct date, you might want to make that correction.
Clark Lyman Whitney is shown with spouses, Rhoda Ann Ballard, Nancy Richardson, Adaline Elizabeth Ballard and "Sarah." There are children associated with 3 of the wives.
There are 12 sources attached, including 5 from "Early Mormon Missionaries." This database is from the Church History Biographical Database and each of the sources links to that database and contains basically the same information.
One of the sources is an 1880 census entry for Lyman Whitney at Santa Ana, Los Angeles, California -- obviously attached in error.
There is one very interesting memory attached - the Winter Quarters Sexton's Records, July 28-August 4, 1847. There is an entry for the son of Lyman & Rhoda Ann Whitney, Enoch R. Whitney, indicating an illness of some kind.
If you are seeking for more information on the personal life and accomplishments of this ancestor we suggest that you send messages to the other contributors to his record. You will see in Latest Changes the names of at least 20 people. Simply click on the person's name and send them a message. Clark Lyman Whitney has so many descendants, perhaps you will find someone with the information you are seeking.
Good luck and best wishes as you work in Family Tree!
