Which household number number do we record if there are two numbers (one in the boxes and one outside of the boxes) and neither are crossed out?

Also in the personal characteristics there are two columns (one white and one shaded) which numbers do we record if they are both filled out and the numbers are different? For example, for age for one person it had 41 in the white boxes but 40 in the shaded boxes.

This is not the correct batch number. Please follow the steps below in order to send us the correct number:

    Steps

    1. Just above the toolbar, click Help.
    2. On the drop-down menu, click Share Batch.
    3. The Share Batch window opens, giving you two options:
      • Copy the batch link, and paste it in an email to the helper or post it on the Share Batch, Etc. page on Facebook. The helper can click the link and go directly to the batch.
      • Share the batch code so the helper can enter it in the web indexing tool and open the batch.
    • A second way to find the batch code is by clicking Batch, then About Batch. The Batch ID is the same as the code.

Please share the batch code or number with your question. Hope to hear from you soon.

Most of the batches I've seen have two numbers but the original one is crossed out. In that case we always index corrections, which would be the one outside the box. Yours doesn't have the original one crossed out, but going by all the others, the later number written is the one we use. Use the white columns rather than the gray columns, as it shows in the second example in the project instructions. https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/images?fs-cache=true&key=idx-deepzoom-image&image=0c981c86-5867-4c0b-b928-246710cfb8e9

    Liberia—2008 Census [Part M][M38V-313]

    Liberia—2008 Census [Part M][M38V-JHP]

    I 'll reword my answer:

As the statement stated above by Barabragailsmith1 we should be indexing the white columns. The project instructions on What to Index Example # 2 shows us to index the numbers in the white column.

As for the House Hold number to index : follow the Field help for HouseHold ID: example # 2: it shows 2 numbers one in the box one out of the box- it indicates we should index the number inside the box-

Hope this clarify the response to this question.

    Mirevo-

Barabragailsmith1 said to use the later number which would be the number outside the box, not inside the box.

In the Project Instructions, under What to Index, How to Index A Census Record, Example 2 shows that we are to use the number written outside the boxes as the corrected number. While yours is not crossed out, I believe that we should still use the number outside the box as they did in Example 2.

I hope this helps to answer your question.
