I was at my public library the other day looking to access these records. It said I had to be at a Family History Center. Does the Affiliatenot have access to these types of records? I know my library just became an affliliate so maybe that could be the issue.

The affiliates have access to many records, but the Family History Centers have access to far more. The original record holder may set restrictions on the availability of records. For example, my local library is an affiliate. I can access certain New York City vital records there. But, to access NYC births and deaths, I have to be at my Family History Center.

When you encounter a film with a camera/key symbol in the FS Catalog, click on it (make sure you are logged in) and you will see a message explaining who is allowed to see the film.

Some of these films are viewable at both FHCs and Affiliate Libraries.

Some are viewable only from FHCs.

If you get a message about having to view a partner's or record custodian's website, it means only members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints can view the film.
