    @GrahamJean

    FYI

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Not that I can be of much help ...

    But ...

    That Said ...

    In an INTERNET search, I came across this ...

    FILExt

    https://filext.com/file-extension/PED

    All about PED Files

    The PED file type is primarily associated with WordPerfect.

    What is a PED file?

    PED files mostly belong to WordPerfect by Corel Corporation. Program Editor was an old DOS text editor sold by WordPerfect Corporation.

    How do you open PED files?

    You need a suitable software like WordPerfect from Corel Corporation to open a PED file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PED file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PED file directly in the browser. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

    Online PED Text Viewer

    [ Choose your .ped file to analyze ]

    or drag and drop it here

    Good Luck.

    I hope this helps, somewhat.
