It is not helpful to see the list of changes showing "relationship deleted" Please change it to say that the person was merged and list the deleted person and the link. Thank you.
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Great suggest enhancement.
You are not alone ...
Many, have been requesting/suggesting such, in the many 'iterations' of the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forums, for, MANY; Many; many, Years.
Some have suggested the 'Term' of, "Archived", rather than "Deleted".
As yet, such has NOT be actioned.
Good Luck, with your suggest enhancement.
Maybe, someone in 'FamilySearch' is listening, this time.
Please address the use of "deleted relationship" instead of merged or archived. Here is a very disturbing story to show how harmful the word "delete" can be to a grieving families.
I received a message from a woman who's mother recently died. She was very upset that her nephew DELETED her mother. She thought that maybe he had done this out of spite or someother hurtful reason, and she was very hurt by this action. In reality her nephew merged his "living" record with his grandmother's membership record; exactly, what he should have done to clean up FamilySearch.
Our society uses the word DELETE to mean that something is gone forever! In FamilySearch merging two people creates a record that shows that a person was deleted. This is very incorrect and harsh wording. Please consider the emotions of everyday people who are trying to deal with the loss of family members and change the wording to something more accurate like merged or archived.
