My Father (Claire Julian Allred 1922–2004 • KWC7-CJ2) was a prisoner of war in WWII. I have the documentation. How do I get him in the Family Search WWII veterans list?

Also Q#2: How can I create a NEW DISCOVERY PAGE for my father (Claire Julian Allred 1922–2004 • KWC7-CJ2) when his name does not show up in the "Find Your Ancestor's Discovery Page" list of names to choose from?

    @bac52

    FYI

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Short Answer (FIRST Question):

IF, your Father appears in these two (x2) "Campaigns" in 'FamilySearch'; THEN, he is already on some of the Records that 'FamilySearch' has:

    Your relative enlisted in WWII

    https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/wwiiancestor

    https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/wwiiancestor

    My Relatives' Military Records

    https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/militaryrecords

    https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/militaryrecords

And, it appears that you have already attached one of the Records in 'FamilySearch' as a "Source", relating to the first campaign:

Military • Utah, World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1940-1947

    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2WP-F6QZ

    Now ...

    That Said ...

Have you searched for heim in this "Collection" in 'FamilySearch'?

United States, Veterans Administration Master Index, 1917-1940

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2968245

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2968245

IF, you find him in the aforementioned "Collection"; THEN, attach the relevant :Source".

    I hope this helps. somewhat.

Short Answer (SECOND Question): You CANNOT create a NEW DISCOVERY PAGE for him.

That is done by the "System".

Not all "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" in 'FamilySearch' have NEW DISCOVERY PAGES as yet.

You may just have to WAIT, until the "System", gets around, to creating a NEW DISCOVERY PAGE for him.

I know that this does not help; but. I hope this gives you some perspective.

Apparently, you can try to "force" a discovery page by replacing the PID at the end of the URL.

(Why people actually want discovery pages is a different question entirely. They're entirely useless, in my experience.)
