Death info for William George SMITH
I am looking for death information for my ancestor, William George SMITH. He was born in Canada in December of 1839. He married Mary JOHNSON in Boyd County, Kentucky in 1866 and had children named John, Irena, Talitha, Alice, Fred, Ora, and Mary while moving from Kentucky to Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, and Missouri. His wife, Mary, died around 1888 in Missouri and he re-married Georgia Ellen COX in Ripley County, Missouri, in 1889. The family was then in the Choctaw Nation area of Pushmataha County in the 1900 census, possibly near what is now Antlers. William and Georgia had had two children together, Elmina Luraney (Lou Rainey), and William Hugh (Huey) and had Georgia's two children Ivey Inez BORTH and Lonzo BORTH (who sometimes went by the surname COLLINS). According to some marriage records of some of the children, there were marriages in Fannin County, Texas, as well, so it's possible they traveled back and forth. No information can be found of William or Georgia after that 1900 census. Any information regarding his death or location afterwards would be greatly appreciated. I would recommend trying the Guided Research link in the appropriate states, e,g., https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/GuidedResearch:Texas. Guided Research is on the right side of the page for each state under Beginning Research.
