Death record & death certificate

My husband's uncle death was a big secret.

Now we are trying to find record of his death and get a death certificate and where he was buried. I have searched Social security and obituary for area I believe he was.

Nathan Ethan Allen. Dob 11-9-1943 Ontario Oregon.

My husband believes he was in the Army.

He lived in Ontario, Brogan, Salem, Baker City Oregon and remembered him calling from California I believe it was Needles. Was told he died 2002 to 2003. When I called one office in California they found online his last residence looked like needles in 2003 and that he died 3-20-2003.
