Danish vs. Norwegian/Swedish DNA
I have done my DNA in both Ancestry and 23andMe and they seem to treat Scandinavian ethnicity differently. My actual ancestry is from 2 places in Denmark: Holstebro (central Jutland) and Hjørring (northern Jutland). Why am I seeing a heavy amount of Norwegian and lesser amount of Swedish in my Ancestry.com composition? 23andMe seems to have it more accurately ONLY Danish. Thank you in advance for anyone's explanation!

My DNA showed some Scottish, Welsh or Irish ancestry and I could not see any in my tree. Then one day I found a Scottish soldier who moved to my country on my father's side. It was far back in 1600, but still, I had enough trace of it to make some 2-3%. Ancestry seems to look further in the past as 23 may concentrate to close distances. Many Danish do have Norwegian (or Swedish) ancestors when you go far enough. These different DNA services like to differ a bit on each other's results. I have Ancestry and My Heritage and I think there too Ancestry looks further back in time as they have one group more in my results, one I have not found yet. Good DNA hunt. I am not a DNA expert either so this is only my opinion.
