Explain names
Can I please get a clear reading of the names highlighted at the end of the banns for Christen Nielsen and Ane Jensdatter? I think Jens is the father of Ane. Don't know about Daniel (?). What is typically the relationship/function of these names? Thanks.

The names are Daniel Kalboer (Kalbore) and Jens Chrestensen (or Chredstensen) followed by a place name (?) that I can't make out. These two men were the bondsmen and they have signed their names approving the engagement. From the Family Search Wiki article on Scandinavian engagements we read "Separate records may have been kept of the banns or formal engagement. It was in this record that the names of the bondsmen or marriage witnesses were usually recorded. These were men who basically stated, via their signatures, that they knew of no reason why the couple could not and should not enter into the state of marriage. The bondsmen are the respective fathers, brothers, or uncles of the prospective bride and groom, so their names should also be recorded in your records." In addition, my experience has been that bondsmen could be close friends if male relatives were not available (for instance, if the bride or groom had moved from the place where they were born).
There is a good chance that Jens Chrestensen is the bride's father, but that should not be assumed. A birth/christening record (or other similar primary source), would be necessary to make sure of that. However, the actual marriage record lists the bondsmen as Daniel Kalbore and Jens Rounborg which is the name associated with Ane Jensdatter in the engagement record, so that increases the possibility that he is her father.
