Need Help Reading/Translating Death Record
Can anyone decipher and then translate the attached death record for Niels Jensen Dahlquist (entry #7 on attached image). I can tell he died in 24 March 1859; don't understand the next column "29/m". I'm especially looking for any clues as to where he was born or where he came from.

It indicates he is was born in Svirrig, meaning Sweden.

I found a very likely possibility, a bachelor Niels Johnsen Dahlqvist of Vestre Odarslof? born in Sweden is marrying the widow Karen Christiansen in 1857 in Arendal, Aust-Agder, Norway. He was a skræddersvend, a journeyman tailor. It names his father as Niels Nielsen It could be the couple wanted to come to America and he died before they could leave.
My Swedish researcher friends will have to help me from here. Could this be the same individual, I think it's likely. I believe the word after his name in the death record is "garversw(end)" which is "journeyman tanner".
The 29/m is the date of his burial-29th of the month (in this case March).
In the notes at the right side of the entry, is the word "alm." which I think means he is a pauper. I can't figure out the next word which looks like "Lamsed" or "Lanesed" (it is a little clearer in an entry 4 entries up on the page).
There is a reference to the Jevnførelses register on page 80, #7. There may be more information about him on that page.

Here is another record of his death (top entry): https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=205637#205637,39018578. It definitely gives his occupation as "garversvend-journeyman tanner" and says he was born in Ukstrup(?) at Lund in Sweden. This is definitely good!! Now we just need to find a birth record for him.

Hi Sheri, the biggest problem with the household record above, is that Lund is not his birth place. It appears to be V(ästra) Odarslöf, which is a neighboring parish to Lund.
Here is a Nils born to John Nilsson 14 December 1825 (close to the unsourced date of 13 December 1825 date in Family Search Tree): https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0067254_00225#?c=&m=&s=&cv=224&xywh=479%2C-140%2C4860%2C2610, but, looking through the birth records, there are quite a few boys (at least 5 or 6) named Nils born to John or Jön in Lund during the time-period we are considering (about 1825).

"When a person began a career as a craftsman it was as an apprentice (lärling) with a master craftsman (mästare). The terms for the training of apprentices, for example the period of apprenticeship, was regulated by the Guild enactments and varied between the different crafts. Only boys were accepted as apprentices and they must not be born out of wedlock."
I am afraid it is going to take a bit of research to find the correct Nils.
By the way, his cause of death was "almindelig lamhed" which Google translate gives as "general paralysis".
