Help with Translation of Fathers name.

Michele, I believe the name is Skyttes. I looked in the dictionary for this word and found, "a person who shoots", also "hunts as a profession". Also, "person who is specifically trained in the use of firearms. https://ordnet.dk/ods/ordbog?query=skytte

Thanks Shari for your expert eyes seeing this. I was told that this was a Steck in this record but it didn't look right to me. I am glad that you were able to debunk this. My family is the Steck's and so this made it clear to me that this person does not belong to mine. Thanks again for your time here always willing to help those of us who can't.

Charlotte Thanks for the help. The one in particular I was asking about was a Hans Henrich LDPZ-VND and someone had added him to Family Search with my family as a Steck but no sources. So I was researching just to make sure that he was or was not part of the family. I have now found out that he is not a Steck. Another reason for my research is to find the marriage date for his so-called parents Christen Steck LZZJ-WV8 and Birthe Sorensdatter KGS8-WHJ. If I could find who was the eldest child it would give me a better date to look into for their marriage. I have one more so-called sibling to discredit or not which is Dorthea Steck LS6Z-461 I have had no luck finding her, with no sources attached I have not been able to prove her as part of this Steck family. There is another sister, Francesca Christina Lovise Steck LS6Z-44W who is older and I can prove her part of the family but the dates in Family Search are wrong and I have to go in and change that. Long story but I am looking for the marriage date of Christen Steck and Birthe Sorensdatter.
