What is the meaning of the two dates in the christening column?

In entry 10 for Mons Monsen, the christening column has January 18, 1831 and April 3, 1831 listed. What are these two dates for? If easier to read, here is the copy of the record:

18 Jan 1831 is when he was christened/baptized at home. This was done when the child was at risk of dying. You will see the term Hjemmedøpt.
Home baptisms were then confirmed or ratified if the child survived to make it to church. That is the 3 April 1831 date. You will see the term Confirmert, Konfirmert, or Stadfestet with these dates.
In more recent parish records this second date will have its own column.

Hello Leon, the home christening date is the "official" date we use in our record keeping. A midwife could christen a child if it were an emergency situation.
