Are family names printed out through Ordinances Ready, which have been shared with the temple, count

A very good 'Question'!
.
I am no expert; but, I suspect that they might; because, they are STILL "Printed" by the Member User/Patron; despite the fact that they were originally "Reserved" by another Member User/Patron.
.
Whereas, we can not be certain.
.
Perhaps, they are "Accredited" in the "Family History Activity Report" to, BOTH, the Member User/Patron who originally "Reserved" them; and, the Member User/Patron who subsequently "Printed" them - 'two for the price of one'.
.
We certainly NEED some confirmation, either way, from someone actually in the KNOW.

The person who prints a name obtained through OR is counted as Submitting no question about that. Remember that you are only obtaining one ordinance at a time so unless this was the only ordinance that was shared by the original person who did the sharing that person still is credited with thier submission because of the other shared ordinances.

Submitter: A member is counted once who submits one or more names for temple work. So the report counts someone who submits 100 names the same as those who submit (or print) only one name

So now another level...where are Primary kids included on the reports? submitters? I know they are not included as Youth on the activity report. So they are part of the total members count? and are 11 year olds part of the Youth count?

At the present time those counted on the FHAR are members age 12 and up. Those younger than 12 are not counted. Yes, youth no graduate from Primary on Jan 1 of the year that they turn 12 but until they actually have their 12th birthday they are not counted as a submitter. The programming needed to change that is probably not going to happen.

Further Complication ...
.
In relation to the "Family History Activity Report" ...
.
For an individual/person "Card", WHAT is the situation where the original "Reserver" initially "Prints" the "Card"; but, then, not undertaking the "Temple" Work, later, "Share[s] with the Temple System"; and, then, later, ANOTHER "Reserver" OBTAINS and "Prints" the "Temple" Work through "OrdinancesReady" and undertakes the "Temple" Work.
.
In such cases, "Technically", wouldn't the "Temple" Work be "Counted" as being "Submitted" TWICE.
.
Is the original "Reserver" who initially "Prints" the "Card"; but, then, later, "Share[s] with the Temple System", the "Submitter"?
.
Or, is the "Reserver" who OBTAINS and "Prints" the "Card" through "OrdinancesReady", the "Submitter"?
.
So, "Technically", what; or, who, is actually, the "Submitter", in such a case?
.
Just curious!

Hopefully there's not the "negative addition" (ie, subtraction) that might come with reserving a number of ordinances, but with upcoming expirations, unreserves them to allow others to grab them via ordinance ready.
We had this "new math" thing that hit our state a number of years ago that still traumatizes me.

So this is like double-dipping..counted once as submitted, counted again as another completes the task. But then again I don't know of any report that provides the status of the number of ordinances completed. We are all just grateful the work is getting done.

Copying this to the @Temple Work and My Family group.

If a person submits the name to the temple; that person counts as having completed an ordinance and shows up in the FHAR. But additionally, if a person picks up that name that was submitted to the temple and completes the work, then that person counts in the FHAR. (This was what I was referring to earlier as double-dipping as far as numbers and reporting go.) However, look at the number of members who are sharing in the blessings of this one individual on the other side. Don't you think they are smiling and saying..."look at how many people are supporting me and my eternal path?"
For those that cannot/will not attend the temple, they should be "recognized or counted as contributing no less than those that are assisting in completing the ordinances as these may have no family names to submit.

@SherryGrabill SherryGrabill - There probably isn't a real problem as those that share with the temple probably share dozens if not hundreds of names. As a few of them are done by others using OR it wouldn't affect their submitter status as you only need to submit one to be counted. I have had 30 or 40 of my shared names done by others this year! Yea, and my family members are thrilled - I am sure! It won't affect my submitter status as I have printed and done more than that myself. And even if I did nothing other than share names OR could never give all my reservations away even though I only have a few under 200 in my list currently.

I agree with you. I just want us to be careful about "counting" rather than looking at the opportunity that people are assisting others and both can count. If you really wanted to count numbers, wouldn't it great if we counted the number submitted or performed...

In full agreement. But you won't be seeing the number submitted being published. That was done a few years ago. They actually counted how many baptisms were submitted by ward and stake. So as always happens some people were totally turned off to submitting as a small group became fanatic at submitting hundreds or thousands of names so their unit could be #1. Along the way we forgot why we were doing it and how it should be done (with care.) Don't think you will see that system coming back any time soon. With OR we now have those who accept with gospel certanty that the names provided are perfect for doing and don't require any due dilligence to check for duplicates, better data, etc.

I agree that some tracking is necessary for accountability and trend analysis. One can't decide where to go without knowing where you've been. Yet, let's not get in the weeds as far the raw data.
As Ward TFH Leader in a large ward, I've focused my reports to the Ward Council with our progress- month on month and year on year. The actual numbers don't matter- just trends. I do recommend creating your own report sheet as it is needed for the Ward clerk's reporting each quarter. Also, the Church's reports do not allow normal search protocols for previous data past a year, my report keeps that info alive. Frankly, just the Indexing reports are searchable. You must print the Activity report.
If you want to see them &/or create your own version; then email me at: huntleys3@outlook.com.
The forms have already been "patted down" for viruses. This is also
helpful in any Priesthood Interviews for the EQ President and my own
accountability.
Then, once a month, I get 15 minutes at Ward Council to review opportunities especially regarding assigned families. I'm invited to attend WC every week.
We have a monthly TFH Council where several members of the WC come as their
organization's representative. So, I get "whacks" at the WC each
month. I review our progress with the Consultants in that meeting.
Lastly, we have weekly training sessions with either 10/11-year old &/or Youth
classes/quorums in the FHC as part of their usual weekly Activity Night that
are trained by their respective TFH Consultant. Every class/quorum has a
consultant (we are adding 10/11- year consultants next month). Again, due to
our size, we can say every youth and older Primary aged child got class
specified training at least 4 times a year. We will have a twice a year Ward Discovery Day to help the younger Primary kids and the adults. Our next one is next month.
We've emphasized the Youth for training. Be aware that TFH is not taught in our MTCs.
It is up to the Wards and families to prep the missionaries in how to invoke
the Spirit of Elijah. I have never in 40 years of doing TFH work had a negative
response from a friend not of our faith when I ask if they would like help
tracing their lineage especially when they learn it's free and we can start
right now.
Finally, I have editing access to the EQ & RS weekly newsletters to make TFH
announcements.
I think all of these initiatives are working. All of the comparables are up versus last
year.
I LOVE to help. I ENJOY hearing from others about what is working (or otherwise) in their
Wards. Please share, even privately.
Merry
Christmas!

@Huntleyandy Huntleyandy - You are doing a great job. Your ward is being blessed thanks to your presence to head things up. Just curious - are you tracking your ward people by name?
