What records might help me to learn more about why this family moved from Holstein to Denmark before they moved to the United States?
I suspect that they left Holstein and went to Denmark for political reasons. My great grandmother said that he fled because the Kaiser wanted him in the Prussian Army. John Sr. was a horse doctor/surgeon.
Where should I search for more information about this family?
