Norwegian translation of confirmation.
I'm looking for a translation of a confirmation record in Romfo, Sunndal parish, More og Romsdal county, Norway. In this link below I'm working on line number 14. I'm looking for Halvor Taralsen Voldojen with the parents Tarald Olsen and Maret Halvorsdr. This record looks like it matches what I need, but After Halvor Taralsen I don't see Voldojen, I think it says Musgjerd parish instead. Can someone check the translation for me to make sure I have the correct record? Also if the name and parents match could they put the wrong parish name behind the name on accident? I know I'm in the right area due to Halvor's birth was in 1823 and the farm book I'm doesn't say anything about moving to another parish. Thanks!

I think you've read the record accurately. I see Musgjerd is a farm in Sunndal parish according to the FamilySearch wiki for Sunndal. https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Sunndal_Parish,_M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal,_Norway_Genealogy
There are possible matches for Halvor in the census records, do you already have those? The 1865 census in Voldøien, Sunndal shows a married Halvor (wife, Ingeborg Olsdatter) and children named Marit and Tharald. They would be named after his parents.

Your transcription looks just fine to me.
Based on this, the family was definitely living at Musgjerd farm when Halvor was confirmed. Musgjerd is a farm in Sunndal located here:
It should be pretty easy to confirm that this Halvor is your Halvor or not. The confirmation record states he was born in Sunndal, is 15 1/2 years old, and gives both parents names. If you check in the birth records and look at all the Halvors born to a Tarald Olsen and Marith Halvorsdatter about 15 1/2 years prior to the confirmation and your Halvor is the only one, then it is the same person.
This brings up a very important point: Bygdeboker are not complete and they are not infallible. They are an excellent starting point and resource but everything needs to be confirmed from primary records.
If Tarald and Marith only lived at Musgjerd farm for a few years, the author of the bygdebok may not have bothered mentioning it.
The most common example of deficiencies of Bygdboker that I have run across, is that many of them don't record children who died before reaching their teen years and many don't record children who moved away before getting married. I've figured this is because they are not really family histories, they are community histories and people that died young or moved away young didn't contribute to that history.
By the way, I can't find Voldojen on the map as a farm in Sunndal. Do you know its current spelling? Is it Vollaøya? That farm is located here:
just around bend in the river from Musgjerd.

1875 census for the same couple with children.

Gordon, thanks for the information. I found Harvor's birth record in 1823 of June so he was around 15 years old. Can you tell me what month the confirmation happens? I know it is on the 15th of 1828 but can't read the month.
Voldojen is under the parish Vollan. The record in family history says it is Voldojen, but the farm book calls it Volløyen in the farm book.
I looked in Musgjerd farm and I can't find Halvor's name on that farm. With the rest of his name matching and his parent's names I feel it is a match.
I already have Halvor's birth, marriage, and death record. I know I don't need confirmation, but I like to find as many records of each person I'm working on if possible.
You don't have to, but if you're interested in any more clues in the records where he lived you can look at these:

I am focusing on parish records I totally forgot about census records (I haven't done family history for about 10 months and trying to get back in the grove to do it). Thanks for the link to the census records. I dug around and found the image you attached. I will start using the census record as another reference point.
I already have those two kids. Total kids are five, the oldest one I think already moved out and the other two died before the census record.

The confirmation was Juli.
Be sure to always check to see if the record you are looking at has been transcribed. That can really help at times.
Open the side panel and choose the link tab where you get the URL for the page then scroll down to see what is available for searching. In this case, the confirmations have been transcribed:
The search brings you to here:

I do think you have the right record. The family must not have lived at Musgjerd very long.
