Can you tell me the two words circled in the attached before the Father's and Mother's names. Looks like blef and something like benämnt to me. Source reference is Torpa (G) C:2 (1748-1772) Image 16 / Page 27

you are correct on both words. Blef means "was" and Benämt (can also be Benämd) means "called" or "named" in this instance.

Thank you! I was hoping some great mystery would be revealed - oh well. And I am not sure why Google translate did not help me (did not translate blef), and I wasn't smart enough to try benämnt - didn't seem like there were enough vowels to be a real word. Anyway, thanks again!
