Danish probate - name?
I can't figure out if the "u-" is part of his name? I've never seen anything like this. Any help will be much appreciated!

I'm not totally sure what it means because it's abbreviated. I don't think it is part of his name or an abbreviation for an occupation. My guess is the "U" stands for "ung" meaning young or the younger. The estate inventory shows that Olle Larsen had four surviving children between the ages of 17 and 2 1/2 years old. I don't know what the estimated age is for Olle but he might have been in his 40s. We might not think of that as young, but if there multiple men by the name of Olle Larsen in the parish (or nearby) the locals might have called him younger Olle Larsen compared to the others that were much older.

Thanks! I was worried it might stand for 'uægte' and that that label was still following him, even after he died. I like your explanation a whole lot better.
