Please help me find my grandmother's son that was born on 5/19/46 in Eastland County, Texas. We hav
We discovered after my grandmother had passed away that she had a son (a year before my father was born) that no one in the family was aware of. We stumbled upon his birth record one day on ancestry.com. The only information I have is from a birth certificate.
Name: Jerry Gene McGraw
DOB: May 19, 1946
Birth Place: Eastland County, Texas
Hospital: West Texas Clinic and Hospital in Ranger, Texas
Mother's Name: Betty June Yielding (Maiden Name) McGraw (Married Name)
Father's Name: Burl David McGraw, Jr.
There are no death records for that name. My father and I completed DNA testing on 23 and me and ancestry.com. Nothing has surfaced yet. My father recently passed away unexpectedly so it's very important to me to find his brother. My father had no other siblings and the aunts/uncles, etc. that may have been aware of this child have all passed away. I spoke to my father's first cousin who said that she had heard that my grandmother had gotten pregnant by her (then) boyfriend when she was 16. When my grandfather came back from WWII, he met my grandmother and fell in love with her even though she was pregnant with another man's baby. They married when my grandmother was four months pregnant. I assume they put the baby up for adoption or they put the child into an orphanage/children's home. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If he was adopted his name would have been changed
You could try some adoption registries
https://www.adopted.com/state/texas.html/43
Put his info on several sites you may get lucky
Maybe he is looking for b-family
I found my b-sister that way
Her daughter saw a post with her mother's birth date & her adopted parents kept her given names
It took a few years
Good luck in your search

Thank you Lynda. I've registered with that site and many others. Nothing yet, but hopefully a match will turn up some day. I'm happy for you that you found your birth sister. That's wonderful.

do not give up hope
My sister was born in Canada but adopted parents moved to the USA
She did not know she was adopted until in her 40's & I did not know I had 4 other siblings until in my 40's
More people are doing the DNA test these days so you never know

Have you checked with the Texas Vital Statistics? My husband was adopted and we had no info, but we found both sides of his family after getting his redacted file. My mother was adopted also. She died this summer unexpectedly. I've been trying to find her father for awhile. Her adopted mom gave her the adoption papers, so I found her biological mom & we met her,but similarly, nobody in the family knew about my Mom. Most family are dead now, have her DNA results but no luck finding birth father. He knew about baby, was going off to war, still wanted to marry, but parent's against, per adoption paper's interview with family during admission into maternity home. Good luck!
