Heidi, thank you so much for your help translating this record. May I ask for some additional help? I have attached the Death record for Isaac Nyman (1793) and would appreciate a translation of his cause of death. Also, the oldest Household Record I can find for them is from Boatorpe (1776-1804) but I can't read their places of birth. Issac born in 1733 and died 1793; Annica born 1730. I would like to find their birth records but can't identify the place of birth. I have also attached a marriage record which I think is their marriage on May 5 1760. Can you confirm this? Thank for any help you are able to provide. Sandy

Issac Nyman's Death Record

Sandy, first I need to ask who you are following? Because in those records you have 3 different families.
Death record for Isaac Nyman is for that Isaac in that household record.
Death record of Annika which I already translated is not the same Annika as in the household record.
Marriage record is for some other couple and it is not the Isaac Nyman and his wife Annika Sandhult in the household record.

Hi - This is Sandy's friend Jan, and this is my family she has been helping me work on. Thank you for telling me I have mixed 3 families, because I have been lost trying to find the right direction. I am looking for the the parents of Johannes Nyman who married Anna Lisa Häkansdotter. The Swedish words are difficult to interpret. Help with the parish name will lead me. I have been trying to stay with Hudene as Johannes is listed there being born in 1765. (Hudene, Husforhorslangder 13324/AI/2 (1776-1804). Would like to see his birth record, as well as his parents. I appreciate any help. Thank you so much!

The household record that you have here says that Annica Sandhult was born in Boråhs (Borås) which is a parish in Älvsborg. Its records are here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/kyrkoarkiv?Arkivsok=bor%c3%a5s&Lan=0&lf=Ladda+arkiv&PageSize=100&Arkiv=SE%2fGLA%2f13048&tab=serie#tab . It appears to be a very large place and the records are indexed alphabetically. I looked a bit for Annika Sandhult but didn't find her.
Looking at Isaac's birth place, I believe it is the farm he is living on now. Just above his name in the household record is the name of the farm: Ebbered Nyg(ård). The Nyg(ård) part of the farm name looks just like his birthplace if you compare the two.
An earlier household record has his name as Isak Jakobsson, Nyman must be a name he picked up later. That record is here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0045780_00100#?c=&m=&s=&cv=99&xywh=283%2C1597%2C2730%2C1434 .
Edit: I just noticed that the name at the top of the 1768-1785 household record referenced above, is Jakob Jansson (or Jonsson) born in 1685. His wife is Britta Bengsdotter born in 1692. If I am correct about his birth place they may be his parents. You would have to find a birth record for Isak to prove it, but it I think it would be worth looking for.

This is the marriage of Isak Jacobsson and Annika Pehrsdotter Sandhult in Borås May 28 1760: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0043179_00070#?c=&m=&s=&cv=69&xywh=2894,3070,3227,1630 .

Hi Jan, There are no birth or death records in Hudene for years 1675-1773. You have to rely on household records. That household record you have (Hudene, Husförhörslängder, 13224/A I/2 (1776-1804), page 159) says that Johannes was born in Ebbareds Nygård, Hudene at 1765. Parents are Isaac Nyman and Annica Sandhult.
Norm Baker has already found you that Isaac was previously known as Jacobsson and Annica was Persdotter and he found their marriage record in Borås.
Several Husförhörslängder böcker (household record books) contain two sets. Also the first one. This family is in page 133 and in 191. Norm gave you the link to the first one. Hudene, Husförhörslängder, 13224/A I/1 (1758-1768), page 133
Isaac Jakobsson Nyman's parents are Jakob Jonsson born 1685 and died about 1765-1768 and Britta Bängtsdotter (Bengtsdotter) born 1692 and died about 1768-1776.
You have found the correct death record for Isaac Nyman. His wife Annica Sandhult lived still at 1809, there is a moving out record for her to Lekåsa. Household record: Hudene, Husförhörslängder, 13224/A I/3 (1804-1819), page 111 https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0045782_00066

By the way, I don't know if you have added your family to Family Tree but I found that some one had added Johan Nyman And Anna Lisa Håkansdotter and their children to Family Tree.

Thank you both for your guidance! I will look at those records and copy them. I love the research, but it can be frustrating when you come to a dead end. Now I know I can get help when this happens again.

I need to make one more note here.
The marriage record says that Annika's mother's name is Kirsti Gunnarsdotter. I found what I thought was the birth record for Annika in Borås in 1730. The record has Pehr Andersson as the father but it lists the mother as Britta Olofsdotter so that cannot be the correct Annika. There is another Annika Pehrsdotter born the 3rd of March 1730 in Sandhult parish (it borders Borås on the west) but no mother is mentioned-in fact, the father's last name is not recorded! That record is here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0045891_00084#?c=&m=&s=&cv=83&xywh=265,1089,3360,1804 . And, of course, there are no household records available in Sandhult for 1730 to be able to pin down that family. Just wanted to make you aware. Good luck!
