This is my great grandfather's birth record. Is there anyone who can translate it for me? Or can dir
Ole Olsen 28 Nov 1876
Ole and his mother came to America in 1883. His mother, Ingri Johansdtr got married and Ole was adopted by her new husband. Ole wasn't treated as well as the following children born in this marriage, or so that family stories say. I am really hoping to open his father's line and learn more. I believe he was born in Storen. There are stories about Skaarvold, Bakken, Lokken, and Hallraen farms, but I am not sure how they all line up yet. Ingri's father is Johan EricksenBakken and mother is Berit Andersdtr Skaarvold.

This is what I am seeing in this record:
Column 1: 46 (46th birth in 1876)
Column 2: 28 Nov (birth date)
Column 3: 26 Dec (christening date)
Column 4: uekte or uækte (illegitimate)
Column 5: (Parents) Bachelor/farmhand Ole Olsen Mjøen in Meldalen 25 years old. Maid Inge Jonsdotter (or Jensdatter?) Skaawold 19 years old. I can't make out the last 2 lines-perhaps @Liv Anderson2 could help with this.
Note: (Mjøen is a farm in Meldalen parish which is very close to Støren parish. Skaawold (aka Skaalvold) is a farm in Støren parish.)
Column 6: Names of witnesses/godparents
Column 7: Name of the person who "home baptized the child" if it was baptized at home (rather than at the church). It says that Ole was not home baptized.
Column 8: Name of the person who reported an illegitimate birth-Anders Jensen or Jonsen Skaavold
I did a search for Ole Olsen in Støren in the 1875 census and came up with this result: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052373002036 . You will have to click on the link to see it. Scroll down a bit until you see the entry highlighted with a light green color. I think this is the father of Ole.

While looking for Ingri Johansdatter in the census, I came up this: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052373002032 .
She is #7 and is just 4 lines above Ole Olsen (#11). Looks pretty good to me that he is the father.
This just keeps getting better.
The parents at the top of the page are John Eriksen and Berit Andersdatter!

Good job Norm. It states that the mother was a pige an unmarried maiden (never been married). Underneath the names of the parents it states that this is the 1st. transgression for both. In other words this is the 1st. child for both of them.
