Help reading a birth record
on the birth record for Alfrida Marie in (Malmö Sankt Pauli (M) CI:1 (1884-1886) Image 165 / Page 161) I am trying to understand the two portions circled in the attached screenshot. I thought the one might say 4th child - but she is the second as far as I can tell. And I thought the 187 might be the page number in household examinations where the family is listed, but that does not match

I think your interpretation of the record is correct. The birth record says the family is on "Folio 187" and they are on page 187 in "S[ödra].F[örstaden]. Litt Ö" which is here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0067835_00119#?c=&m=&s=&cv=118&xywh=197,374,4718,2479 .
I am sure that the record says this is her 4th child. My Heritage has Sweden's household records (1840-1947) indexed and in searching through the household records for Anna Svensdotter born 5 June 1854 in Husie, one of the records indicates that she and Adolf Fridlund had another daughter born 1 Sept 1880 and died 1 October 1880. So, there are at least 3 children born to this couple and I am thinking there is probably another child born somewhere-but I am not sure where. There is a good possibility of another child around 1883 (right in-between the other two) but I would think it would show up in the household records. If it was still-born, perhaps not.

Wow! You are amazing! I had actually already dismissed a possible duplicate in Family Search that listed Betty Marie as a child because she was not listed as a child in the household examination covering the 1883 birth year. And I could not find a birth record that matched in what I thought was the correct parish. Thanks again for your help!! By the way I like your profile photo. Just returned from a backpacking trip with my son and 11 year old grandson- his first experience
