Help in deciphering word and understanding change in patronymic surname
I can not seem to find a definition for the word before Nils' name in the two birth records below. Perhaps something to do with a military ranking? He seems to be Nils Lånnässon in Catharina's birth record, but the 1751 Household Record for Catharina's mother leads to Nils Gustafsson and the birth record of their son Gustaf where Nils' surname looks like Linbergsson, but then crossed out. Could Nils Gustafsson and Nils Lånnässon/Linbegsson all be one in the same person? A soldier taking a new name? Is there additional info in Gustaf's birth record that I am missing, place, etc.? In Catharina's birth record father is Corporalen Nils Lännäs.
In Gustaf's birth record farher is Corporalen Nils Linberg

Sorry my two fold answer, I am using my phone.
Corporal is a military rank, about same as sergeant. Military ranks in Swedish army at that time in land army was Captain, Luutenant, Fänrik, Fältväbel, Sergeant/Corporal, Soldier.
It does not mention the place name in Gustaf's birth record, is says på åsen, I am not sure what it means. There are several Åsen -places, but not in Örebro and I don't think it means a place in here as a exact name. If I have to guess, I would say that it means "like the following". First witnesses were from Röhammar, Mellösa parish.
Nils Linberg and Nils Gustafsson seams to be same person. Linberg is a soldier name and Gustafsson is a patronymic name.
A soldier was some times named after their living place. A name some times also could have been changed.

Thank you! This is all so helpful. After posting, I saw a death record that refers to him as Nils Gustafsson Lännäs so it all makes sense to me now. You, and others in this group, have been so helpful the past few months sharing your knowledge.
