Question about Mantal Tax headings and meaning, 1820
Attached are the headings and image for the 1820 Mantal Tax for Tegen, Dalskog, Alvsborg, Sweden.
Can someone tell me if the first 3 columns (things like 1 1/16; 1/8; ect) relate to what percentage of land the person owned in the village of Tegen? If so, in theory, this list of names represents the taxable land owners of this town, correct?
Also, is it possible to get some idea of what kinds of topics are being recorded inthe comments column?
Thank you for the excellent class and article...Mantals Tax Records of Sweden by Geoff Morris. I have reviewed the example of the headings. Is there anywhere that has a translation of the headings for each year similar to the US census headings translations?

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner! Your right about the measurements.
With your specific entry the comments column looks like it lists ages for people (at least adults) in the household and even some names. It's hard to see where one household stops and another begins but I think this is how your entry is listed:

the information in tax records varies based on the time period, place and the person keeping the record, for this reason it would be hard to create a universal translation for the headings. Many/most of the words in the headings can be found in the Swedish Genealogical Word List on the wiki, and if you struggle to read them, you're always welcome to post them here for a few extra sets of eyes.
