The male in family search is LHZX-8SY, But she is also listed as a female KZVG-D42. My "textbook" on Scandinavian Records Extraction used years ago for extraction purposes lists Bodel as both male and female. Maybe I will search for confirmation records for this person. I assume that the record I quoted did not say. I did not understand two or three of the words in the church record of the birth.

The 1787 death record does not give a gender. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=163280#163280,27427215

the temple work has been done for both male and female. I guess I will just have to leave it at that. Thank you for the research!

@wilcoxjudy wilcoxjudy, it's true that Bodel can be either a girl's name or a boy's name. However, since her father's name is Jens Bodelsen (Jens, son of the father Bodel), it's likely that the child was named after his father, Bodel. As such, I would think it most likely that the child was male--but it is still of course possible that he named a daughter after his father.
